When I say… “I am a Christian”

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting “I’m clean livin’.”
I’m whispering “I was lost,
Now I’m found and forgiven.”

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak of this with pride.
I’m confessing that I stumble
and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong.
I’m professing that I’m weak
And need His strength to carry on.

When I say. “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success.
I’m admitting I have failed
And need God to clean my mess.

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
But, God believes I am worth it.

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain.
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say… “I am a Christian”
I’m not holier than thou,
I’m just a simple sinner
Who received God’s good grace, somehow.”

This was at our annual church camp -2012. Well i already went to mine in the Midwest and decided to swing through the one in the Northeast since i was gonna around. For the last session before the end of the camp, they wanted the college students to join the youth instead of staying in the main session. I don’t regret it one bit. :)

Be Still And Know That I Am God….

I wanted to make this post earlier but got entangled up in certain affair. Anyway, there was a guy that came to church today. (Manhattan, LCI since I’m in NY for the month). One of the girls we went on outreach with on Saturday met him at the park and he actually came to church the following Sunday. This is his story….

His name is Vince…and he’s from Montreal, Canada. He just landed in NY a couple days ago for a job and was supposed to be living with a friend however when he got to NYC, his friend says he’s outta town and won’t be back till the following week so Vince has been carrying his luggage everywhere he goes in the city. He even brought it to church today and he’s been sleeping in the YMCA. Judging from his outward appearance he’s not the usual typical homeless guy. I wish i could’ve asked more questions because the story by human nature seems very suspect however, i give him the benefit of the doubt and strongly believe he’s not a crook in any way, shape or form and his story is really legit. And by the way…he gave his life to Christ today..whoot whoot.

Well the whole purpose of this is that, if i were in that situation, or most people for instance, would surely panic. I mean you’ve landed in a country that you don’t know anyone but one person, who is not around and your job interview isn’t till a couple weeks later, traveling all around the city everyday with your luggage, sleeping in the ymca not knowing what the following day consists off.

However, this guy just seemed so calm and peaceful. I don’t know but it was just something about him that he was not even worried about his situation. Yes, he stated what was going on because we all wanted to  know why he brought such a huge suitcase to church however his situation did not move him one bit to freak out. He was actually very free flowing and happy and this is someone who just gave their life to Christ today.

How much more us Believers, when God has promised in His Word that He will never leave us nor forsake, that we should cast our cares upon Him, we should be still and know He is God, that all things will work together for our good but when we enter into the least bit of trouble, we panic. We let our situation define us and forget who our God truly is and what He has promised in His Word.

Don’t be shaken by the affairs of this life. God will surely take care of you. Stay blessed. <3

I ask God to give me complete knowledge of His will and to give me spiritual wisdom and understanding so that the way i live will always honor and please the Lord, and my life will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, i will grow as i learn to know God better and better.I also pray that i will be strengthened with all His glorious power so i will have all the endurance and patience i need. May i be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled me to share in the inheritance that belongs to His people, who live in the light. For he has rescued me from the kingdom of darkness and transferred me into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased my freedom and forgave my sins.
